Why, yes, I am obsessed with my colors.

Hurray! I have completed my first inspiration board, which will probably be one of many. I wanted to really put the colors I want together, and I think I achieved that with this, but I don't feel like I really captured the feeling I want for my wedding, which is one of fun and relaxation-- I know that the planning process will be stressful at times, but I want the day of to feel anything but, for Zack and I and for our guests.

My favorite things about these pictures:

Top row: That's a candy bar! Love the idea. I don't think we'll be able to manage both a candy bar and a cake, and I'm more attached to the cake (for now), but isn't it beautiful? And the second image, with the cake-- I love the way that the color on the cake looks, very elegant. And the bouquet adds a sense of light airiness-- despite my three-pronged color scheme, I want lots of white, too, with the colors as accents to a lot of the details. I think that will help balance out what could be an uncontrolled riot of primary colors.

Second row: Awesome invites and save the dates and place cards and table numbers, all in fun, exciting colors. Poo on those boring old white, engraved, double enveloped, tissue papered, expensive invites. I am all for modern, fun designs with plenty of personality. Also, peep-toe shoes-- I've seen them, and now they are a must, especially considering the rest of my very forties ideal bridal ensemble. Sunflowers in red and yellow, oh yes. Gerbera daisies, too. They're so summery! And the blue dress with the red accents-- bridesmaid inspiration like whoa. What do you think, my ladies in waiting?

Third row: Those first two pictures really bring in the feeling I want of lots of light and white. And the tablescape at the end in red and blue, while a little more formal than necessary, really embodies how I'd like for our guests to feel-- cared for, with everything they need right in reach. Low, artistic centerpieces to make for easy cross-table conversation. Or as an alternative, tall but thin centerpieces.

I think I've stayed up late enough for one night! I can pretty much guarantee that this will not be the last of my inspiration boards, but for now, ta-ta!

Official Colors

Pale sunshine yellow, dark wine red, and tropical sky blue. I know, I know, three is a lot. But I've thought about it and tried to narrow it down, but I can't. So three colors it is.

In other news, I have set my first real planning goal. I want to have a tentative guest list ready to go by the end of the year. I need help! Zack and I will make a list of our friends who we feel should be invited, but I know that I would end up forgetting some important family members or family friends if I made a list all alone. Mommies, we need you! I'm thinking an A-list of people who must be invited, and then a B-list of people who could be invited if we have the funds/room.

Also, quickly, a poll~ Since we are having an outdoor, summer wedding in Georgia, what would be the best month to get all the joy of summertime without killing ourselves with heat? And before you say, "That's impossible,"-- I know. But I'm determined to make a valiant effort anyway. So-- June? July? August? September, even? I'm not willing to push the date back to May, because so many people dear to me have graduation that month, and because I want at least until June to plan. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Welcome!

Hi Everyone!

As you can probably tell from the title, this blog is run by me, Lauren, and my fiancé, Zack. We are embarking on the adventure of planning our wedding, honeymoon, and life together, and we want to share that adventure with you. If you are a member of our wedding party, or close family, you can keep up with this blog to figure out exactly what we're thinking when we say something crazy like, "Let's have a three-legged race at the reception!" or, "Why don't we make all our floral arrangements out of fabric and tissue paper?!"

There are so many great, creative, and unique ideas out there right now, and I'll post the ones I like here so that you all can give me feedback on what might work. This process is going to be a fun and exciting one, and I really appreciate all the help I'll be depending on from my friends and family.

I love you all!
