Why, yes, I am obsessed with my colors.

Hurray! I have completed my first inspiration board, which will probably be one of many. I wanted to really put the colors I want together, and I think I achieved that with this, but I don't feel like I really captured the feeling I want for my wedding, which is one of fun and relaxation-- I know that the planning process will be stressful at times, but I want the day of to feel anything but, for Zack and I and for our guests.

My favorite things about these pictures:

Top row: That's a candy bar! Love the idea. I don't think we'll be able to manage both a candy bar and a cake, and I'm more attached to the cake (for now), but isn't it beautiful? And the second image, with the cake-- I love the way that the color on the cake looks, very elegant. And the bouquet adds a sense of light airiness-- despite my three-pronged color scheme, I want lots of white, too, with the colors as accents to a lot of the details. I think that will help balance out what could be an uncontrolled riot of primary colors.

Second row: Awesome invites and save the dates and place cards and table numbers, all in fun, exciting colors. Poo on those boring old white, engraved, double enveloped, tissue papered, expensive invites. I am all for modern, fun designs with plenty of personality. Also, peep-toe shoes-- I've seen them, and now they are a must, especially considering the rest of my very forties ideal bridal ensemble. Sunflowers in red and yellow, oh yes. Gerbera daisies, too. They're so summery! And the blue dress with the red accents-- bridesmaid inspiration like whoa. What do you think, my ladies in waiting?

Third row: Those first two pictures really bring in the feeling I want of lots of light and white. And the tablescape at the end in red and blue, while a little more formal than necessary, really embodies how I'd like for our guests to feel-- cared for, with everything they need right in reach. Low, artistic centerpieces to make for easy cross-table conversation. Or as an alternative, tall but thin centerpieces.

I think I've stayed up late enough for one night! I can pretty much guarantee that this will not be the last of my inspiration boards, but for now, ta-ta!

  1. I think a few days at home design some STD cards, and other such stuff might be in order. We'll put them on the big screen, have some food we're not supposed to eat, and design your cards!

  2. I think some engagement pics might be in order. ;) And Jess has agreed to help design STD's and invites, because I LOVE the things she designs, and because she was a graphic design major for a long time. I'd appreciate your insight too though!
